Professor Dr Andreas Kulick holds the Chair of Public International Law and Public Law and is Founding Director of the Mainz International Adjudication Center (MAIAC). He is also Co-Director of the School of German Law at Jagiellonian University Kraków and Life Member of Clare Hall College, Cambridge. He is widely published in various areas of public international law is past or present Member of two Committees and a Study Group of the International Law Association (ILA). Professor Kulick has experience in representing states and private actors in proceedings before international courts and tribunals. He accepts appointments as arbitrator and counsel.

Andreas Kulick studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau, Geneva (HEID), Berlin (Humboldt University) and New York (NYU). He holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law (2009) and a doctorate in Public International Law from Eberhard Karls University Tübingen (2011). He received his Habilitation (venia legendi) from Eberhard Karls University Tübingen in 2019 and held several visiting professor positions before being elected Chair of Public International Law and Public Law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2024. In 2025, he received the offer to join Saarbrücken University as Chair of European, International and Public Law and Co-Director of the Europa Institute, which he declined in favor of founding the MAIAC. He has held positions as visiting fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre of International Law, NYU School of Law, the European University Institute and the Amsterdam Centre for International Law.
